Onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) is The Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA), which provides full-disk imaging of the Sun in 3 ultraviolet and 7 extreme ultraviolet (EUV) band passes every 10 seconds. This blue image was taken with a 335 Angstrom filter on September 10, 2010. The goal of the AIA is to understand the Sun's influence on Earth and near-Earth space by studying the solar atmosphere in many wavelengths simultaneously.
